...it bites.

For those of you who didn't know, I am currently in the middle of an internship on a printing works. More specificly, I fold paper, with the help of a machine that looks like this except for the legs and the eyes. Much like Tuomas - the math-genius schoolbus -, Wagner here was created after spending too much time in the presence of something that is relatively large, made of metal, and that weighs more than a ton, which are some of the vague criterias for the objects that I choose to bring life to in my drawings.

This is also one of the very rare images where I actually drew myself as well, mostly as a size reference (most people have never seen a folding machine, anyway), but also for humorous effect.

Wagner is not part of the Evestears canon, and as such I haven't designed a story or a deep personality to go with the character. However, I do know a few things about him; he is sly, likes to make life difficult for bookbinders, works properly only when he feels like it - and also, he is an origami genius, although he seldom shows his talent. On good days, it is possible to bribe him with apple pie to make him frictionlessly process large editions.

But I warn you, on the outside, Wagner bears very little resemblance to the real version, as I have a habit of taking very big artistic liberties in my anthro-izing. I guess his design makes more sense to people like me, who know what it looks like on the inside and how it works.

EDIT 2008-06-11: Corrected a few spots on the colouring that I had missed, and added a shadow under the tail to make it look less like it is floating in the air.
