Fire Dragon - pipe cleaner art by teblad Fire Dragon - pipe cleaner art by teblad
Another small dragon made of 100% pipe cleaners.

The claws and the pupils on the dragon were achieved by painting on the pipe cleaners with an OH pen. Truckloads of credit to kalicothekat (who also does great pipe cleaner art) for teaching me to use pens on pipe cleaners (but she does that way better than I...)

EDIT (finally...) : New and BETTER photos! :D

now this brings back memories I used to do the same thing in fact they've still got some of my dragons that I made from pipe cleaners as they like to call it (shineil) although not sure I spelled that correctly I used to to be heavily into the dragonriders of pern and I made lots of firelizards wander
around conventions and put them on your shoulder I even made one for Anne McCaffrey herself however I was never able to get it to her before she got sick and couldn't do much she eventually died unfortunately but I still have my pipe cleaner dragons I'm glad to see that somebody else is doing that to good work maybe some day I'll have to dig mine out and put them on devintart
but I love what you're doing and it sure brings back memories

Yeah, I was looking at kalicothekat's stuff, but I can't figure out how you guys do those eyes! But the both of you have a very full, posed style. Visually pleasing and impressive!

Well how do you get such a little piece to stay in there? That's what I can't figure out...

uuh.. well actually both eyes are the ends of a single piece of pipe cleaner that runs straight though the dragon's head. and then you need to bend and shape the ends a bit to make the eyes the shape and size you want.

i might do a tutorial someday, who knows =P. for now, just experiment :). i've been doing this stuff for more than 10 years, learning by myself, so it's difficult for me to explain to other people :( sorry...

It makes sense, thanks. I think you just have a lot more materials to work with than I do!

I love how you did the wings :D! Wonderful--they really do look webbed/stretched skin/whatever dragon wings are made of XD. And that tail.....just plain rocks!
And I'm so happy to have inspired you xD. Using markers is fun, isn't it? And you did so well with them :D!
