The original chinese dragon by teblad The original chinese dragon by teblad
100% pipe cleaners. No glue, no hidden sewing thread, just pipe cleaners, like always (well, except for the piano wire used to hang it on the hook on the wall...)

I built this dragon of pipe cleaners five years ago, when I was 15. It was the first oriental-style dragon I made (hence "original"), so that's why it's so ugly ;) It's the biggest pipe cleaner sculpture I've ever made though, and it looks pretty cool hanging on my living room wall, so I decided to honor it with a place on DA :D

It's about a metre across when it's coiled up like in the photos. I haven't measured it when it's stretched out.

Hm, your pipecleaner are is very inspiring. Back when I was six or seven I used to play around with them, but it's not until now that I've started making them again, then looked them up on dA. Maybe I should make some more complex things...

nope, i don't have pipecleaners as long as the entire dragon. however, in the tail, i used pipecleaners that were about 60 cm long. in the rest of the body i used normal 30cm ones. obviously, i had to join them together so that the dragon would not fall apart

That's awesome!!!! I can't do that with pipe cleaners. Steel wire, maybe.
