My mother loves gladioluses, and when I couldn't get the real version for her on her birthday I made one of pipecleaners. 
I didn't have time to make an entire bouquet, but she still appreciated it 
This pipecleaner gladiolus is 82 cm (a little over 32 inches) tall, which makes it almost life-sized
It took about 3 hours to complete, and it is all pipecleaners except for two thin wooden sticks inside the stem for stability.
Working on this piece made me happy. I keep thinking how awesome it would be to have, say, ten gladioluses of different colours in a huge pipecleaner bouquet
